FBI and CIA Suspect Anthrax Source Domestic
The person who sent the Anthrax mailings to Dashal et al. may just have done the US and the world a giant favor, either wittingly or unwittingly.

Seeing what just a few ounces of weapons grade Anthrax can do is eye opening to say the least!

Also seeing just how much "catching up" the health community needed became very evident.

It is staggering to contemplate an event where--not ounces--but tons of Anthrax would be released.

The Press and Politically Correct Terrorism
The news media is reluctant to define the enemy. Indeed, within the last week, it has become politically incorrect to describe the Islamic terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center and Pentagon, murdering thousands of innocent Americans, as "Islamic terrorists."

An organization of religion news reporters suggested that reporters avoid the term 'Islamic terrorist' or similar labels as Muslims and their beliefs receive greater scrutiny.

Stephen Jukes, Reuters' global head of news, decreed that the giant wire service's 2,500 journalists should not use the T-word unless in a direct quote.

Jukes said, "We all know that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."  "To be frank, it adds little to call the attack on the World Trade Center a terrorist attack."

FBI Sitting on Flight 587 Videotape
Videotape that could show exactly what happened to American Airlines Flight 587 is in the hands of the FBI - but the bureau has thus far declined to release it.

Dozens of eyewitnesses have told media outlets they saw an explosion and/or a fire at the juncture of Flight 587's wing and fuselage moments before it began to break up, losing its tail first, then both its engines.

Catastrophic engine failure, which was first suspected to have caused the explosion, was ruled out Tuesday after NTSB investigators examined the engines and found no evidence of mechanical failure.

The CF-6, a workhorse [engine] found on several Boeing Co. and Airbus jumbo jets, has had a series of close calls that has sparked NTSB concern. In June last year, a CF-6 partly disintegrated on a Varig Airlines Boeing 767 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And three times last year, CF-6 engines on Continental Airlines DC-10s partially disintegrated just before takeoff.

In addition, months before Monday's crash, Airbus engineers began working on additional safety features to prevent unwanted deployment of reversers; and Monday, some industry officials said investigators also began scrutinizing the maintenance history of the parts that hold the A300's engines to its wings.

We had better act decisively soon, or it may be too late for America.
If we "play by the rules"--acting only Defensively, never going on the Offense--we may regret it--the survivors that is.

Iraq surly has a surprise or two for America, just waiting in the wings, to spring on us when we least expect it.

Considering the damage thus far accrued from the Attack of September 11, by just 19 people, using 4 airliners that took >5,000 lives, not to mention the hit to the economy: what then would be the damage to the nation if a weapon(s) of mass destruction (WMD) were unleashed.

Instead of finding out for ourselves, let us hope and pray that our leaders, Mr. Bush et al., move against Iraq (and any other state of like intentions) preemptively!   --Soon!

With our national preoccupation of "not wanting to harm 'innocent people,'" how about the use of a few strategically placed EMP[1] weapons against Iraq, the Taliban, et al.

Without killing a single person, an EMP weapon could take Saddam Hussein's war making capacity back to the Stone Age: it would destroy all or most high tech weapons and electronic equipment and disable most communications, and impact most power distribution system in that country. And, not a single person would die, and few, if any, would be injured.

If we are the World's Preeminent Super Power that is claimed, why then do we chose to do battle with our enemies using 'third world' weapons and tactics?

We have super weapons, some even humane, but we continue to use iron bombs, high explosives, and M-16s against people, who if given the chance/weapons, would Annihilate us from the face of the earth without a second thought.

The kind of decisiveness that saved this nation during the Second World War, is what will save us this time around. Nothing less will do!

A Scenario to Chill your Soul:

The Allies win a series of battles in Afghanistan against the Taliban, and al Qaeda seems to be on its way out.

We Americans are jubilant, and are full of patriotic pride--deservedly so!

Tuesday afternoon, your radio listening is interrupted, and all networks carry the same News Special:
"There has been an attack on the Nation's Capital."

"At 2:12 P.M. EST, a brilliant fireball was seen over Washington, DC."

"It is believed that there has been a NUCLEAR ATTACK on the Nation's Capital. All contact with Washington and surrounding area has been lost."

"There is no word from the White House as to the condition or the whereabouts of the President of the United States, or the Vice President."

Time passes and the News Anchors are at a loss to know what has happened or what is happening--lots of speculation, but NO FACTS.

Finally, after an hour, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz, comes on radio and television from the UK, with the news that the Government of the United States has been Attacked by an unknown enemy.  He says that it is believed that the President, Vice President, and the Cabinet are all DEAD. He further states that "there seems no way the Congress could have survived this Nuclear Attack."

The rest will be HISTORY--or NOT.

Americans Would Have No Place to Go in a Nuclear Attack
While U.S. political leaders are prepared to survive a nuclear attack, protecting the general public from radiation apparently is not part of the equation.

According to civil defense advocates, there's enough room in America's remaining Cold War-era fallout shelters only for members of Congress and other select government officials.

More than five or six years ago, under the Clinton Administration, fallout shelters in "all 50 states" were stripped of their supplies (water, food, blankets) and equipment (radiation detectors)." Most of the contents and materials from the shelters were auctioned off or disposed of.

According to Ed York, a pioneer in U.S. nuclear weaponry, "The possibility that some terrorist group will be able to steal or buy or fabricate a weapon on their own is going up all the time," and some say that makes preparedness all the more important.

Tests on Anthrax Point To Sophisticated Source...

The anthrax spores that contaminated the air in Senate Majority Leader Thomas A. Daschle's office had been treated with a chemical additive so sophisticated that only three nations are thought to have been capable of making it: the United States, the former Soviet Union and Iraq.

The additives enable anthrax spores to remain suspended in the air, making them more easily inhaled and therefore more deadly.

Each nation used a different technique, suggesting that ongoing microscopic and chemical analyses may reveal more about the spores' provenance than did their genetic analysis, which is largely complete.

Arming Pilots
The most egregious of the U.S. government's failure after Sept. 11 to either a) immediately arm pilots in the cockpits or b) call out the National Guard to fly armed on all flights until a sky marshal program could be implemented; or c) My personal favorite, ARM the PASSENGERS!

Instead we dithered. The country's economy has been allowed to fall off a cliff.  Meanwhile, the FAA says airlines are safe at the very same time Reagan National remains closed and we read reports of the military's plans to shoot down hijacked civilian jets.  But we can't arm the pilots God forbid!  Even when the head of the pilots association goes before Congress to say that planes are not safe, that the pilots need guns.

The media plays the story as an extreme measure; they gave a lot of air time to Patricia Friend, president of the Association of Flight Attendants.  She told Congress she opposed arming pilots, that instead flight attendants should be armed with "stun guns," which she called "the weapon of choice."  Gee, she should know!

Like the state Concealed Carry laws,
just the knowledge that the flight crew "may" be armed is a deterrent!-

Profiling
Since the attacks of Sept. 11, how many stories have you seen about the horrors of profiling, and how evil it is for authorities to be checking Arab-Americans males more carefully at airports?

Doesn't common sense dictate that when 19 Arab men, all in a certain age bracket, just hijacked four jet planes and just killed around 7,000 people, that it would be reasonable to check people who fit that profile a bit more carefully? Wouldn't patriotic Arab-Americans be glad for such a policy because it assures their safety as well? If I was an Arab, I would be happy I was being checked.

Subject: OK in Idaho

I arrived in Moscow, Idaho (Home of Idaho University one block from Best Western) and went to dinner at Best Western.

About 85-100 people were in the Restaurant. I'm at a table for about 5 minutes when this "Group" comes in (20 people). They have Anti-War Picket Signs with them. It appears that two of these demonstrators are Professors.

They all sit at a large round table behind me and begin to talk very loudly about US atrocities in Afghanistan. One of the "Professors" stands up and gives a brief talk about how the "US is famous for atrocities" and Afghanistan will be no different. One of the students asked a question about Viet Nam POW's. The "Professor" makes a comment about how that was only US propaganda about poor treatment of POW's.

OK - I'm really mad now and I jump up and go over to their table.

(In retrospect - Over the entrance to the Restaurant is a huge American Flag.On each table is an American Flag and a small hand painted sign "United We Stand")

I excuse myself and ask the Professor if I can ask him a question.

He says yes. I said that he appears to be of age to have served in Viet Nam, and asked him if he had served.

His answer was, "NO - I defended this Campus and told the truth to the students.

I then asked if he remembered what he was doing on February 16, 1969.

When he answered "Of course not - that was too long ago," I responded, "Really, I remember what I was doing. That was the second day of my capture and I had been standing in a bamboo cage for 24 hours with water up to my chest".

I then said "Sir, your comments about how POW's in Nam were treated are a lie and I personally say to you, you are a ******* liar, as you never were there. I was a POW and they did not treat our POWs humanly. The only other person I have ever heard make the statements like you have is Jane Fonda. Is she telling the truth and not me?

He stood up and after about 10 seconds said, "Jane is a great patriot and I cannot visualize her lying".

With that, I reached over and grabbed the small American Flag and United We Stand sign and said, "I'm taking this back to my table where it can be appreciated".

No one said a word to me as I started to walk back.

However after a few seconds, people started standing up and applauding all around the restaurant. Two men got up from a table across the room and walked over to me. The first identified himself as former US Marine Lieutenant Flynn and the other man was former Gunnery Sergeant Graboski.

In a loud voice after introducing themselves, Lt. Flynn said they were former Marine Guards at a US Embassy. He then said " WE are over at this table to defend the US Flag from all foes, both foreign and domestic."

They then sat down and asked their Waitress to bring their meals over to my table. A few more minutes went by with loud comments from the "Anti-War" table. All of a sudden, "Gunny" Sergeant Graboski stood up and in a loud voice said "All of you heard what the President said the other night. You are either with the United States or you are with the terrorists."

He then said "Please stand and join me in God Bless America." As he started singing, people all around the restaurant stood up and joined in. Several of the students at the "Anti-War" table also stood up half way through the song and joined in. Both Professors and the majority of the students remained seated and refused to sing. At the end there was a great ovation.

The Manager came up to my table (He and his staff came out from the kitchen and sang). He thanked me for what I started and then went over to the Anti-War table and asked them to leave. "I will pay for what you have had so far but I cannot in good conscience serve you - get out now!!

One of the Professors then made a remark "Well, we are not going to pay one dime for how shabbily we have been treated." As they were leaving, one customer stood up and said "Manager, here is $5 towards their bill, anyone else willing to chip in to get this scum out of here?"

All over the restaurant, people stood up reaching for their wallet and saying "I'll chip in"

The Manager, in tears said, "My family is from Poland, I am now a citizen and am so proud of what I see tonight." He started crying and a couple of the waitresses helped him into the kitchen."

The two Marines and I were there for about another 20 minutes and finished our meal. The Hostess came up and showed us more than $100 dollars that all the other tables had told their Waitresses to give towards our bill. I thanked her but said I could not take the money. Lt Flynn suggested donating it in the Restaurant's name to the New York Relief Fund...

-Professors blame U.S. for terrorism

University of Texas professor Robert Jensen has
written that the terrorists' acts were "no more
despicable than the massive acts of terrorism Ö
that the U.S. government has committed during
my lifetime."

Richard Falk, a professor at Princeton
University, has said that the terrorist attacks
occurred because "the mass of humanity Ö
finds itself under the heels of U.S. economic,
military, cultural and diplomatic power."

Professor Elisabeth Weber of the University of
California-Santa Barbara wrote, "My concern
over the U.S. flags surrounding campus is that
they endanger the free exchange that normally
characterizes our campus."

Rutgers University professor Barbara Foley
wrote that "whatever [the terrorist attacks']
proximate cause, its ultimate cause is the
fascism of U.S. foreign policy over the past
many decades."

Professor Howard Zinn of Boston University
wrote, "We need to think about the resentment
all over the world felt by people who have
been victims of American military action Ė in
Vietnam, in Latin America, in Iraq."

Evergreen State College of Olympia, Wash.,
professor Larry Mosqueda wrote, "If we
multiply by 800-1,000 times the amount of pain,
angst, and anger being currently felt by the
American public, we might begin to understand
how much the rest of the world feels as they
are continually victimized [by the U.S.]. Ö"

A professor at the University of North
Carolina-Chapel Hill, Charlie Kurzman, has
blamed the terrorist attacks on the U.S.
military. He says, "We're playing into the hands
of our own militarists, whose interests always
lie, I believe, in the exaggeration of threats,
armed responses and so on." He added that he
"would argue that there is tacit collusion among
the militarists of all sides."

Professor George Wright of Chico State
University in Chico, Calif., alleges that
President Bush wants to "kill innocent people,"
"colonize" the entire Arab world and secure "oil
for the Bush family. Ö"

University of Minnesota Professor Ezra Hyland
blamed Americans directly for the attacks,
claiming that "you can't plant hatred and not
expect to reap hatred."
